In my natural habitat — next to a brand-new smile
My story
Why I do this
I qualified from King’s College London in 2014, and what drew me in has never really changed: dentistry is one of the few jobs where someone can walk in hiding their smile and walk out unable to stop using it. You get to fix something people carry around every single day. I still find that remarkable.
Over the years since, I’ve focused on cosmetic and restorative dentistry — bonding, veneers, Invisalign — and dental implants, with a particular soft spot for the patients who arrive telling me they hate the dentist. I’m trained in sedation for exactly that reason, and the appointments I’m proudest of are usually the quiet ones: someone who stayed away for years, finally comfortable in a chair.
My philosophy is simple, and I’d rather lose a sale than break it: be conservative. Keep as much of your natural tooth as possible, recommend the smallest thing that gets you the result, and explain it all in plain English — no jargon, no pressure, no surprise bills. If bonding will do the job of a veneer, I’ll tell you. If you need extra time, you’ll get it without asking twice.
“The best dentistry doesn’t shout. It just looks like you — on a really good day.”

The other kind of performance
Patients are sometimes surprised to learn their dentist moonlights with a microphone. I sing — properly, on actual stages, with a band.

Singing live taught me more about dentistry than you’d think. On stage, you learn to read a room, to put people at ease, and to care — a lot — about the little details nobody can quite put their finger on. In the clinic it’s the same job: nervous energy in the room, and my job to turn it into something people actually enjoy. Also, yes — I will absolutely hum while I work if you ask nicely.
